The band was home to the late member and bass guitarist, Tim Chandler. Guitarist Marc Byrd was the fifth member of The Choir between the years 2005-2014.
The Choir has an extensive career, including 21 full-length studio albums, four EPS, six live albums, one single-disc compilation album, and one retrospective box set. And luckily for us, the band is still actively recording music!
About the Album:
Chase the Kangaroo, released in 1988, is the fourth studio release, and third full-length studio album from The Choir. This album listed at No. 50 in the book CCM Presents: The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music (2002) and No. 4 on the list of the “Top 100 Christian Rock Albums of All Time” by HM Magazine (2010).
The song, “Sad Face,” has a personal meaning to band member Steve Hindalong. Hindalong’s wife Nancy suffered from her second miscarriage which inspired him to turn to the Bible and create a poem titled “A Sad Face” from Ecclesiastes 7:3
“Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart.”
This verse became the theme of The Choir’s album,24 and the poem was created into their song, “Sad Face.”
